What do you know about Mentorship?

Did you know that in France, we have 20,000 mentor relationships?

It's the buzzword, but ultimately what does it really consist of when we talk about mentoring? We will explain to you why it is useful today to find a mentor and especially how to find THE mentor to achieve your goals.

3, 2, 1 - Let's go!

Mentoring, or also called sponsorship, is the idea that someone more experienced than you, on their own initiative, gives up their time in order to increase your skills and answer your questions. A 100% voluntary and completely free initiative, so you might as well take advantage of it.

Today having a mentor will allow you to:

● Develop knowledge and skills on a specific subject,

● Be supported and motivated during stressful times,

● Gain in professionalism,

● Have the opportunity to simply talk and chat with someone who has gained more experience!

Now you have only one desire, to find a mentor, we will see together how to choose and find your mentor.

First, it is important that you identify what you expect from your mentor:

● What would you like to learn? Or is it simply to guide you in your professional orientation? Find a job? Help you build your business?

● How often do you want to see it?

Once your objectives and criteria have been targeted, the hunt is on!

  1. From the mentoring directory, filter your search to obtain only the profiles that meet your expectations: by company? by job? by industry?

  2. When you find the rare pearl, all you have to do is ask them by going to their profile, using the yellow button “Ask as a mentor”. The person receives a notification and agrees to respond to you within two weeks.

The person is not available? Don't be discouraged, we are sure that a lot of other profiles are waiting for your request!

Is it a match? Bingo, your relationship can then begin.

Once you have found your mentor, the next step is to establish a relationship ready for action.

1. Begin by clearly expressing your needs and goals.

2. Next, establish the frequency of your exchanges. Advice: no more than once a month, enough time to implement your mentor's recommendations and get the first results.😉

3. Thank your mentor! Share feedback on your work and acknowledge the end of the mentorship (when this is the case) in order to close your relationship. Advice: A mentoring relationship rarely lasts more than 6 months, but this is up to you, to make it longer with your mentor!

It now seems that you have all the cards in hand to find THE mentor who will help you progress.
